I can zip it - can you?

Last year my husband talked me into taking the family down hill skiing.  I haven't ski'd in years so I didn't have ski pants or a jacket.  Being over weight, shopping is not always enjoyable since it's hard to find stuff to fit.  I didn't start looking for ski pants or a jacket until mid-season last year so the selection was minimal and I of course never did find a ski jacket.

While visiting my sister last Christmas, she gave me a ski jacket that she used to wear.  Of course it didn't fit me but it gave me a goal.  My goal was to get into the jacket for the winter of 2013.

Last night, we hit the slopes for the first time this season and guess what - the ski jacket ZIPS!!!

Not only does the ski jacket zip, the ski pants I bought last year are big on me.  Now if only I could improve my down hill skiing skills.

If you are ready to join me on getting healthy or just want more energy, let me know and I would be happy to help you get started with Advocare.  Here is my website: https://www.advocare.com/131030385/

Morning Glory Muffins

On my journey to getting healthy, I have come across some really good recipes that I want to share.  I don't like recipes that are hard or require a lot of prep time.  I like recipes that turn out even if you don't follow the directions to the tee.

So just know that these are recipes that I have personally tried and I have loved them.  I hope you enjoy them too.

Morning Glory Muffins

Dry Ingredients:
 - 3/4 cup whole wheat flour
 - 3/4 cup oat-bran cereal
 - 1/2 tsp baking soda
 - 1 tsp apple pie spice
 - 1/2 tsp sea salt

Wet Ingredients
 - 1 banana, mashed
 - 1/2 cup plain kefir
 - 1 egg white + 1 whole egg, well beaten
 - 2 Tbsp unsweetened applesauce
 -  tsp vanilla extract
 - 1 carrot, peeled and grated
 - 1/4 cup pitted dates (optional, I've never used them)
 - 1/2 cup chopped natural walnuts (or any nut you would like)

1) Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.
2) Prepare 12 muffin tins by lining with silicon or paper liners, or by spraying with cooking spray.
3) Combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl. mix well.
4) Combine all wet ingredients in a medium-sized bowl. mix well.
5) Pour wet ingredients into dry and mix until just combined.  Do not over mix or your muffins will come out flat and rubbery.
6) Spoon batter into muffin cups until 3/4 full.  Place in hot oven and bake for 15 -20 minutes.  Remove from oven and let cool on wire cooling rack.

My husbands 24 day challenge RESULTS

My husband did the 24 day challenge and is feeling amazing.  He had great results and is continuing to use the Advocare products.  Matt's energy increased and overall just feels much healthier.

Matt started the challenge about 10 days after I started mine.  He seen how good I was feeling and decided to jump on board and give it a try.  He's happy he did!!!

Here are Matt's 24 day challenge results:

Weight lost - 8.5 pounds
Inches lost - 1.5 inches

Matt is continuing on the following Advocare products:
 - MNS Max 3
 - Spark
 - Catalyst
 - Meal replacement shakes
 - Gingerbread snack bars
 - Cinnamon raisin snack bars
 - Chocolate snack bars

I'll keep you updated on how he's doing with his wellness.  Matt doesn't have much more weight to lose - he was aiming to lose about 5 pounds but he reached that easily so he's lowered his goal weight and he's keeping it going.  Once he reaches his goal weight, he will discontinue using the Catalyst but will most likely continue with the rest of the products.  Who knows, he might even add in some Muscle Gain products :-)

If your interested in learning more about the Advocare products and if they might be right for you, please let me know. https://www.advocare.com/131030385/default.aspx

My Sisters 24 Day Challenge RESULTS

My sister did the 24 day challenge the same time I did and she got amazing results also.

Here are her results:

Weight - lost 11 lbs (yeah)
chest - lost 2"
waist - up 0.75"
hips - lost 2"
thighs - lost 0.75"

It was very motivating doing the challenge with someone else.  We could exchange our notes and bounce ideas off each other, plus keep each other motivated.

My sister is continuing on the product because she is feeling amazing.  Her energy has increased and she just generally feels much better.

When you are ready to get healthy and want to learn more about the Advocare products, let me know.  Maybe you and a friend could do the challenge together!

Day 24 - Challenge Complete

I made it to day 24 with no problem at all.  Day 24 does not mean it's the end.  I have been feeling great and I'm not ending this healthy journey now.  I started my new lifestyle on October 24, 2013 and I plan to keep it!

The last 24 days have actually been very easy for me.  I have changed my eating habits, giving my body the nutrition it needs and have given up diet coke, the result of feeling good has been so rewarding it's amazing.  I'm going to continue on the Advocare products and continue to work on loosing more weight.

I gave the challenge my best shot. Did I cheat a little?  Yes, I will admit I ate a couple pieces of Halloween candy and didn't drink all my water everyday.  But, I stuck to the plan pretty close.  My food intake was good, I ate healthy and the right portions.  I started to exercise and I'm still working on that.  I'm not up to full potential on that yet, but I'm getting there!

In the last 24 days, my energy level has increased and I feel amazing.  Not only have I lost weight and inches but I have gained confidence that Advocare really works.  It's no magic pill, but I followed the plan and it works.  The plan is easy and it's not boring, it's healthy and life changing.

As for my results, they are as follows:

Weight - lost 5 lbs
Chest - lost 1"
Waist - lost 1.5"
Hips - lost 3"
Upper Thigh - lost L 1" / R 0.5"
Upper Arm - lost 0.5"

In total (24 days) I lost 5 lbs and 7.5 inches!

I am now wearing smaller jeans and everything is fitting bigger - what a great feeling!

If you are interested in learning more about Advocare, please let me know and I would be happy to help you!

Day 15, 16, 17 & 18 - My underwear are falling down

November 7, 8, 9 & 10

I'm a bit behind on blogging but the good news is, I need new underwear because mine are getting too big for me.  Quite the problem to have!

I'm on day 18 of the challenge and things are going great.  I am down 3.2 pounds.  It feels like I'm down more pounds than that so I must be loosing inches.  I won't take my measurements again until I'm done with the 24 day challenge.  The end is coming quick but it's really not an end because I already know that I'm going to continue with the Advocare products and continue with the healthy eating.

I tried a couple new recipes this weekend so Saturday I was at the store buying my groceries.  I'm not usually very adventurous when it comes to trying new recipes especially when the recipe calls for ingredients that I have no idea what they look like.  I was searching the store for eggplant and leeks - good thing all the produce is labeled because otherwise I would never have found it.  I made a homemade beef barley soup which was delicious! I also made a vegetarian chili, not sure how it's going to taste but I have to be honest, it doesn't look that appealing.  If you would like the recipe for the beef barley soup, just let me know.  It was super easy and yummy.

My aunt also shared with me her recipe for roasted garbanzo beans - yummy.  They are my new favorite snack.  Let me know if you would like that recipe too!

My husband started the challenge today also.  I'm excited for him (and me) because he has wanted to start eating healthier for a very long time now.  He has high cholesterol and works hard at running but just doesn't have quite enough energy everyday.  I'm sure that within a week of being on the challenge, he'll have increased energy and be able to work out like he wants to.

My meals the past couple days have been pretty standard, salads, pork chops, fish, chicken, pork roast and beef barley soup.

My exercise has been pretty consistent.  I have been doing zumba or riding my recumbent bike.

My water intake could use some improvement but I'm doing pretty good with it.  I haven't missed diet coke yet and it's been 18 days since I've had one.  I almost want to try a sip to see if I even would like it anymore.

So, recap for the past couple days - I'm still feeling amazing.  All the vitamins and minerals are getting easier to take, it's just becoming natural now.  Plus, I'm fueling my body with good nutrients!

Day 14 - I work out

November 6, 2013

Day 14 already! I woke up this morning feeling very rested.  I have been sleeping great and just generally feeling amazing.

I had a slight stomach ache again this morning after breakfast but it wasn't as bad as yesterday.  I was fine the rest of the day.  My guess is it's just my body getting used to taking the vitamins and minerals.

My goal today was to eat a little more.  Since starting the 24 day challenge, I have not felt very hungry.  I have to say, the Advocare products have really kept my hunger under control.  Even when I'm eating my meals, most of the time I feel full even before I finish them, however I make myself finish them because I know my body needs the fuel.  However, my plan to eat more didn't really work, I think I ate about the same as I have the days before.

My day was as follows:

30 minutes before breakfast:
 - MNS color pack
 - catalyst (3 capsules)
 - thermoplus (1 capsule)

Breakfast:
 - meal replacement shake

10:00 am morning snack:
 - Advocare apple cinnamon bar
 - spark

30 minutes before lunch:
 - MNS color pack
 - catalyst (3 capsules)

Lunch:
 - salad with chicken, black beans, peas, tomatoes & sugar free dressing
 - grapes

Afternoon snack:
 - spark
 - 1/4 cup raw almonds

Supper:
 - pork chop
 - corn
 - 1 piece whole grain bread
 - pear

Evening snack:
 - banana

Bedtime:
 - catalyst (3 capsules)

My water intake today was 80 oz.  Plus, I worked out tonight.  I went on my recumbent bike for 25 minutes.

I have two friends that are starting their 24 day challenge this weekend.  I'm excited for them and I hope they feel as wonderful as I do on the Advocare products!!!

Recap for today - the capsules are getting easier and easier to take and it seems like I feel more amazing each day.

First time I had black beans on a salad - it was very yummy!

Day 13 - I exercised

November 5, 2013

I stepped it up a notch today and exercised.  I had extra energy this evening so I decided to get my body moving and do a little zumba.

I was gone for a good portion of the day today but I planned ahead with my snack so I was prepared.  I did learn something though - always pack an extra snack, just in case.  The afternoon snack I packed wasn't quite enough to curve my hunger but I didn't have anything else available to eat so I drank my water instead.  I should have packed an extra fruit or something just in case.  Lesson learned!

I volunteered today at the school doing copying jobs and I think I worked up an appetite.  There is no doubt that working out of the house is tiring, I'm not used to being on my feet for so many hours.  I love volunteering though and I'm so fortunate that I get to do it.  I'm thankful for spark today because it kept me energized!

I had a bit of a stomach ache this morning, not sure if it's my body getting used to the supplements or if it's a bug that's going around.  My stomach started gurgling and feeling uncomfortable about 45 minutes after breakfast.  After a couple bathroom trips, I was feeling better.  I felt fine the rest of the day so we'll see how it goes tomorrow morning.

My food intake was a follows:

30 minutes before breakfast:
 - MNS color pack
 - catalyst (3 capsules)
 - thermoplus (1 capsule)

Breakfast:
 - chocolate meal replacement shake (I'm still in love with them)

10:00 snack:
 - spark
 - banana

30 minutes before lunch
 - MNS color pack
 - catalyst (3 capsules)

Lunch:
 - MNS white packs
 - roast beef sandwich with bun
 - grapes
 - skipped out on the veggie today because I was in a hurry

Afternoon snack
 - Advo bar (double chocolate) - ate on the way to gymnastics (the girls are in gymnastics, not me)

Supper:
 - spark (I might be up all night)
 - salmon
 - peas
 - 1 piece whole grain bread

Bedtime:
 - catalyst (3 capsules)

My water intake was 88 oz.
My exercise was 30 minutes of zumba

Recap for today: proud of myself for exercising!

My supper tonight - salmon, peas and bread

Day 12 - Going Great

November 4, 2013

It's day 12 and I'm still going strong.  Hard to believe I'm already on day 12, time is going by quickly.  My friend even mentioned the other day that she noticed I haven't complained about my new healthy challenge.  I told her it's because I'm really enjoying it and I'm feeling great.  In the past whenever I ate healthy, I would complain because I still wanted to eat the bad foods, but this time it's different.  I don't have cravings for sweets or anything.  My hunger is under control and I have plenty of energy to make it through the day.

Now that Halloween is done, life seems to be getting back into order.  That's a good thing because I can focus more on my eating habits.  Today I focused on drinking more water and just staying active.  I did pretty good.

My day unfolded as follows.

30 minutes before breakfast:
 - MNS color pack
 - catalyst (3 capsules)
 - Thermoplus (1 capsule)

Breakfast:
 - meal replacement shake

10:00 - drank a spark to get me energized

Morning snack:
 - banana

30 minutes before lunch:
 - MNS color pack
 - catalyst (3 capsules)

Lunch:
 - homemade chicken salad sandwich
 - tomato
 - pear

Afternoon snack:
 - Advo bar (double chocolate, yummy)

3:30 - had a spark

Supper:
 - Omegaplex (4 capsules)
 - beef barley soup from Denny's
 - side salad from Denny's

Bedtime:
 - catalyst (3 capsules)

My water intake was about 55 oz today.  My exercise consisted of cleaning my house.  I had plans to do zumba tonight but it's now 10:00pm and I need to get to bed.

I have two people doing the 24 day challenge with me and I followed up on their progress today.  Both of them are doing amazing!!!  They both have lost weight and have a ton more energy.  Keep up the great work ladies.

If you are interested in any Advocare products or would like to get more information on what Advocare has to offer, please let me know.  I would be happy to help you.  I can honestly say that since starting the Advocare products just 12 days ago, I feel amazing!!!

My lunch today - chicken salad sandwich, tomatoes and a pear.  I was so full I almost couldn't finish it.

Day 11 - Max Phase

November 3, 2013

Day 11 - I've entered what is called the Max Phase.  This is when you take the supplements that will help nourish your body.  My day went great, even though I was extremely tired from my outing the night before.

Being it's the first day of this phase, I found it very difficult to take so many supplements.  Most of the supplements are to be taken in the first half of the morning and it was a bit overwhelming. I'm sure within a couple days, this will become routine and it will be normal.

With the time change and well being out half the night, my day really didn't start till LATE morning, so my day started a bit off.

30 minutes before breakfast:
 - MNS color pack (supplements)
 - catalyst (3 capsules)
 - thermoplus (1 capsule)

Police officer stopped by to inform us our 5th wheel was broken into at the storage facility.  So, I didn't have time to fix my meal replacement shake as planned.  I brushed my teeth and threw on a sweatshirt and we headed out the door to meet the officer to go through our RV and report what was missing or damaged.  Again, morning didn't go as planned.

Breakfast:
 - meal replacement bar - on the run.  It's chocolate peanut butter though so who would mind a breakfast like that?

Morning snack:
 - didn't have a morning snack because by the time I had breakfast, it was already past lunch.

30 minutes before lunch:
 - MNS color pack (supplements)
 - catalyst (3 capsules)

Lunch:
 - roast beef sandwich with bun (told you I've been living on roast beef)
 - carrots

Supper:
 - went out to eat and I had a grilled chicken salad with light cheese
 - Omegaplex (4 capsules)

My water intake was about 40 oz today - not as much as I wanted but I'll work harder on it tomorrow.  I didn't have any spark today.  It was a lazy day around our house, even the dog took a nap.

Wish my post could be a bit more upbeat tonight but I'm keeping it real for you.  Today was not a motivated day and that's about all there is to it.  Tomorrow is a new day and I plan to make it a better day.

Recap for today - should have drank spark, lol

Days 8, 9 & 10

October 31, November 1, & 2

I'm a couple days behind because of Halloween.  We have a hayride every year and I was busy preparing for that.  So, as you can probably figure out, my eating habits were slightly off because I was busy running around like crazy.  However, I did pretty well sticking to my eating plan and eating healthy

For our Halloween party, we had roast beef sandwiches so it feels like I've been eating roast beef sandwiches for days now.  I have also discovered that a rotisserie chicken is a simple and cheap thing to pick up at the store and quick to fix for supper.

My water intake has been okay - definitely could be better.  Now that Halloween is done, I can focus more on my water intake.  It's weird but just being busy for a couple days can really alter what you put in your mouth or don't put in your mouth.  I ate healthy while I was busy but I don't feel like I gave it my 100%.  So, I'm back 100%.

I am proud to say though that I only ate 4 pieces of Halloween candy - that's a record for me!

Yesterday was day 10, last day of my cleanse.  It also happened to be our big adult Halloween night out.  There were 36 of us that dressed up and went to the bar.  We had a blast.  Your not suppose to drink alcohol on the cleanse phase but I couldn't resist just a couple drinks.  I think I danced most of it off though.  This morning probably wasn't a good morning to weigh myself since I was drinking (mostly water though) and eating at Denny's at 3:00 in the morning.  But I wanted to document my progress at the end of my cleanse phase, so I hopped on the scale and took my measurements.

Here is my results:

Weight - lost 0.4 lbs
Chest - lost 0.5"
Waist - lost 0.5"
Hips - lost 2.0"
Upper thigh - L lost 0.5" / R stayed the same
Upper Arm - lost 0.5"

In total, I lost 4" and 0.4 pounds - I'll take it.  My pants are fitting better, probably because I lost 2 inches in my hips.

I have been feeling great and my energy level is still going strong.  Now I start the Max Phase,  I'm excited to see my progress on this phase too.  Stay tuned.

Day 7 - Going Great

October 30, 2013

It was another great day today.  I'm very proud of myself because I haven't even gotten into the Halloween candy.  My hunger was well controlled and I had plenty of energy.  The only thing I need to improve on is my exercise - I need to start exercising!!!!

I have been busy preparing for our Halloween Hayride so exercise has taken the back seat, however as soon as Halloween is done, I'm going to start exercising, no excuses!!!!

I have noticed that since eating healthy again, I'm eating foods that I love and for some reason I haven't eaten them in a long time.  Here is my food intake for today:

30 minutes before breakfast
 - probiotic restore ultra
 - catalyst (3)

Breakfast
 - meal replacement shake

morning snack
 - banana
 - spark

lunch
 - egg salad sandwich
 - tomato (3 slices)
 - grapes

afternoon snack
 - protein bar

supper
 - rotisserie chicken
 - 1 slice whole grain bread
 - carrots

evening snack
 - grapes

My water intake was a little lower today at 50 oz.

Recap for today: felt amazing

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Halloween!

Lunch today - egg salad I've missed you!

Day 6 - Best day so far

October 29, 2013

Day 6 and I have to say I have felt the best today that I have felt so far.  I had a lot of energy and got a lot of things accomplished.  My hunger level was a little higher today but that's okay, I just ate a little more food but it was healthy food.  I only had one spark drink for the whole day, just didn't really need another one so I didn't have it.  It's about 8:30 at night now and I'm starting to get tired but that's normal for me.

So, my day was as follows:

30 minutes before breakfast:
 - probiotic restore ultra
 - catalyst (3)

breakfast
 - meal replacement shake

10:00 - spark drink

11:00 morning snack
 - 1/4 cup raw almonds (not nearly as good as honey roasted, but still good)

lunch
 - catalyst (3)
 - made a delicious salad with onion, tomato, egg, chicken and mushrooms.  Was hungry so I made a big one.  (just see the picture)

3:30 afternoon snack
 - banana (I had to drive the girls to gymnastics so I planned ahead and grabbed something for in the car)

supper
 - omegaplex caplets
 - pork (leftover from the other night)
 - green beans
 - grapes

evening snack
 - grapes and then more grapes and maybe a couple more (they were good tonight)

My water intake take was about 70 oz.

Now I'm done eating for the night.  Before I go to bed, I will be taking my herbal cleanse caplets and my 3 catalyst.

When I hopped on the scale this morning, I was still only down the 2.5 pounds but that's alright, I'll take it.  It's 2.5 pounds that I don't need and don't want!

Recap for today - felt the best I have in a long time.

Here's my salad I had for lunch - told you it was big.

Here is my dog Cosmo, she's called it a night already.  Looks like she could use a spark drink!

Day 5 - Busy Day

October 28, 2013

Today didn't go as planned.  I was gone most of the day and I didn't plan my food accordingly so I didn't eat right.  What I did eat was healthy, however I didn't eat enough.  I wasn't necessarily hungry throughout the day but I was busy all day and didn't really have a chance to think about food or water or much else really.

My morning started great, I woke up feeling wonderful.  I could have slept for another hour but couldn't everyone when the alarm goes off at 6:10am?  After I got out of the shower, I took my 3 catalyst and my probiotic restore capsules.

30 minutes later I had a chocolate meal replacement shake for breakfast.  I also had half a spark.

I volunteered at the school today and I forgot to pack a snack.  So, I didn't have a morning snack.  I did bring my water with me though, however I didn't drink as much as I normally would because my bathroom trips are still quite frequent as my body is getting used to all the water.  Seems like I pee about every 10 minutes, so I held off on the water slightly.

As soon as I got done volunteering at school, I came home and had lunch.

lunch:
 - tuna sandwich (2 slices whole grain bread & tuna)
 - brussel sprouts
 - grapes

After lunch I had errands to run so I did all of that and when I got home, it was time to go back to school to volunteer again.  I quickly grabbed my afternoon snack.  It was about 2:30 at this time, I wasn't hungry but I knew I had to eat because I wasn't going to eat until supper time.  So I had some carrots and almond butter again, it's seriously good.

At 2:45 I had a spark to give me a boost.

I worked at the school from 3:00 till 6:30.  I quickly ran home and had to bring my daughter to dance for 7:00.  I didn't have time to make supper so I made a meal replacement shake.  This time I added a little almond butter to it - yummy!!!!  Tasted like a chocolate peanut butter shake but a healthy one.  It was very good.

With all my businesses today, I was even able to get some exercise in.  I walked the halls in the school getting kids for their hearing and vision screening.  I did a lot of walking so I'm counting it as exercise!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get as much water in as I usually do.  I still felt great today but tomorrow I will be back to drinking more water.

Recap for today - disappointed in the way I ate but still feel amazing.

Day 4 - Can't wait for my chocolate shake

October 27, 2013

First thing I thought of this morning when I opened my eyes was the chocolate meal replacement shake I am going to have for breakfast.  Pathetic, I know but they are seriously that good.  I use my little blender, put 9 oz of water in it, add a couple cubes of ice then the chocolate shake powder and blend it up.  It makes a nice thick chocolate shake.  It tastes wonderful and fills me up.  Plus, I get my chocolate fix right away in the morning.  I think I'm in love!

Unfortunately, I did wake up with a headache still this morning.  I popped a couple more Advil hoping I can get rid of this pest today.  Day 2 of a headache is no fun.   Talked to my Advisor this morning and she brought up the point that it's possible I have a headache because of too much caffeine.  I think she might be right. The Spark energy drink has caffeine in it and I'm thinking it's more than I'm used to and it's causing my headache.  So, for now on, I'm going to mix only half of the spark powder into the water and see how it makes me feel.

On day 4, you don't need a fiber drink - yeah!  Here's how my day played out:

Breakfast:
 - Spark
 - Probiotic Restore Ultra
 - Catalyst (1 pill)

30 minutes later
 - chocolate meal replacement shake

I had a banana for my snack at 11:00.  Again, I wasn't hungry but I wanted to make sure I ate so that my metabolism didn't slow down.

Lunch:
 - catalyst (3 pills)
 - open faced tuna sandwich (which I made with celery & may with olive oil)
 - strawberries

Afternoon snack:
 - carrots with almond butter (recommended by a great friend)  This was actually delicious

Supper:
 - pork
 - green beans
 - brussel sprouts
 - strawberries
 - whole grain bread

Evening Snack:
 - protein bar

Bedtime:
 - herbal cleanse caplets
 - catalyst (2)

Don't forget, I'm drinking about 90 oz of water a day too.  I am loving how hydrated I'm feeling.  Before I started this, my liquid intake consisted of 2 diet cokes a day, that's all!  My poor body.

So, your probably wondering if I've lost any weight yet.  The answer is yes, I've lost 2.5 pounds as of this morning (morning of day 4).  I know your not suppose to weigh yourself everyday but I do, always have and always will.  Plus, I know there is more to being healthy and becoming fit than just loosing weight, loosing inches is a huge thing too.  I won't be checking my inches until after the first 10 days but once I do, I'll let you know if I've shrunk at all.

Tomorrow will be day 5 and I have to say the past 4 days have been great.  I haven't been craving anything bad for me, I haven't been going hungry and I haven't been crabby because I haven't been able to eat unhealthy foods.  I've been happy and happy with the progress I'm making!

Oh yeah - my headache has gone away since I've only taken half the spark drink!

Recap of day 4 - things are continuing to go great and only getting better!

Today's lunch - had an extra piece of celery so I threw it in there.

Supper - cooked a pork roast in the crock pot, super easy.

Day 3 - Feeling great

October 26, 2013

It's day 3 and I'm feeling amazing!  I noticed this morning that I am not even missing my diet coke.  I haven't had one in 2 days and I don't even crave one.  I am having no problems at all drinking water throughout the day.  I thought drinking water was going to be one of the hardest parts for me, but so far, it's no problem at all.

I have decided today to write on the blog as the day goes on, so the format will be slightly different today.  I'm going to document things as they happen.

I woke up this morning with more energy than usual.  I didn't feel nearly as tired when I opened my eyes.

Breakfast:
 - drank spark
 - catalyst (2 pills)
 - drank fiber drink
 - drank meal replacement shake.
I was going to have something besides the meal replacement shake for breakfast but then decided to have it because it's so good.

Still feeling full at 11:00 but decided to have a banana since I'm suppose to eat something every 2 - 3 1/2 hours on this plan.  It's important to eat often!

Lunch:
 - baked chicken breast
 - broccoli
 - tomato

Around 2:00, I was feeling lazy so I drank a spark.

I went grocery shopping this afternoon and bought almond butter, I was super excited to try it so when I got home from the store, I had my snack.  I had a piece of whole grain toast and almond butter on it.  The almond butter wasn't bad but it smelt better than it tasted.

Supper:
- OmegaPlex (3 pills)
- salmon
- green beans
- 1 piece whole grain bread

I have had a headache most of the day today.  I took Advil but haven't been able to get rid of it.  Headaches aren't that unusual for me so I don't know if it has anything to do with my diet or not.  I'm always a bit more grumpy when I have a headache and food makes me feel better.  When I was grocery shopping, I bought some high fiber high protein chocolate peanut butter bars.  I bought them just in case I needed something chocolate.  Well, I broke down tonight and needed it.  So, my evening snack was the high fiber & high protein chocolate bar.  Not the worst snack in the world but I would have rather had a vegetable especially during the cleanse phase.

Bedtime:
 - herbal cleanse caplets (3)
 - catalyst (3)

Recap for my day, I'm feeling wonderful!!!!

This was my lunch - I should have taken a picture of supper, it was much more appealing.

Day 2

October 25, 2013

It's day 2 and I'm going strong.  It was a little bit harder today because I had a small stomach ache.  Not sure if it was part of the cleanse phase or just a normal stomach phase.  As the day went on, my stomach felt better and it had stopped gurgling.  I made several trips to the bathroom between lunch and supper but nothing unmanageable.  Sorry if it's too much information but I just want to be honest with how my experience is!  After I ate supper, my stomach felt fine.

I figured by day 2, my body would be in such shock that I would have a splitting headache.  I haven't ate this healthy or drank this much water since I don't know when.  Actually I don't know if I ever have.  But the reality is, I'm feeling great.  I don't have a headache and I'm not hungry.  Could I go eat a box of cookies - you bet but I'm not going to.

I followed the plan pretty much perfectly.  My day went as follows:

Breakfast:
- Spark
- Catalyst (2 pills)
- fiber drink
- meal replacement shake (chocolate, yum)

Snack:
- banana

Lunch:
 - Catalyst (2 pills)
 - Salad (lettuce, spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, broccoli, chicken, sugar free dressing)

Snack:
 - 1/4 cup nuts (almonds)

Supper:
 - OmegaPlex (3 pills)
 - 2 eggs, 1 piece whole grain bread & corn (I know weird meal)

6:00 Pick me up
 - Spark drink

Snack:
 - Pear

Bedtime:
 - Herbal Cleanse Caplets
 - Catalyst (3 pills)

I drank a total of 112 oz of water today.  Yes, that's right, 112 oz.  Seems impossible but I also did 90 minutes of Zumba tonight.  I attended a Halloween Zumba fundraiser for a local preschool and it was awesome.  I drank a spark before I left and I had plenty of energy to dance for the whole 90 minutes.

Overall day 2 was great and I'm excited for day 3!  Below is a picture of my salad I ate for lunch, it was yummy.

Day 1

October 24, 2013

I have to say, day 1 went smoother than I anticipated.  I wasn't nearly as hungry as I thought I would be.  I had extra energy just like everyone told me I would.  Here is a breakdown of how my day went.

8:00 am - drank spark and took 1 catalyst pill.  Got a ton of energy from the spark - feeling great.

8:30 am - drank fiber drink.  Have to say the fiber drink is not the best.  It's not bad tasting, just a different consistency.  The best part is, you only have to drink it for 6 days!!

8:40 am - drank a meal replacement shake, chocolate flavor.  It was delicious.  I was so full I had a hard time finishing it.

10:30 am - was feeling slightly hungry so I ate a banana for a snack

11:30 am - didn't need another spark because my energy was still going strong.  I took 1 more catalyst pill.

12:00 pm - had a salad for lunch.  Salad included lettuce, spinach, onion, mushrooms, tomatoes, grilled chicken and a small amount of fat free thousand island dressing.

3:30 pm - started to feel hungry and lazy.  Had 1/4 cup nuts for a sack.

4:00 pm - need a pick me up so I had a spark - felt my energy pick up again.

5:30 pm - supper time  had baked chicken, steamed broccoli and 1 piece of whole grain bread.  Also took 1 omegaPlex.  I was feeling very full and satisfied.

Didn't need an evening snack because I wasn't hungry.  It's important to note that I drank water throughout the day.  I drank A LOT of water!  About 90 oz to be exact.  I was seriously peeing about every 5 minutes.  It's important to drink a lot of water so your body can flush out all the bad toxins in your body.  That is part of the cleanse phase.

For exercise, I did 30 minutes of zumba on the WII.  I even danced longer than Chloe!

Before going to bed, I took my herbal cleanse caplets and 1 more catalyst pill.  I was feeling great - no complaints!!!!!  Looking forward to day 2.

My Journey to becoming healthy

Welcome to my journey of becoming healthy!!!  As some of you have heard , I have recently become involved in a company called Advocare, they are a health and wellness company that sells well over 70 wellness products.

Since I have been young, I have struggled with my weight and in June 2013, I reached an all time high. I have always loved food and in the past 5 years, I talked myself into thinking that it was okay if I was overweight because I was getting older and that's just what older people do.  But, at 36 years old, I do not want to be lazy and tired all the time.  I want to be active and outside enjoying things with my kids and husband.  I want to live a healthy lifestyle and I want to feel on top of my game.

Of course, many of you are wondering, "Do Advocare products work?"  I have a friend that lost 21 pounds since July by using their products.  There is a lot of testimonials out there from people claiming the products are amazing.  But, if your like me, you need to know for yourself if they work.  So, I have decided to put my life out there so you can follow along on my journey, day for day and see how the products work and how they make me feel.  I will blog each day of the 24 day challenge documenting what I'm eating, drinking and which supplements I'm taking.  I plan to follow the challenge as closely as possible.

One thing to note - this is not only going to last 24 days, this is a life changing plan.  Starting yesterday, my family and I will be eating healthier.  We will have less processed foods and more whole foods.

So, I hope that you will follow along with me as I take the steps to becoming healthier.  Trust me, some days are going to be hard and I'm going to complain.  I have a major sweet tooth so cutting out sweets is going to be a challenge for me but I'm determined!

If at anytime along the way, you are interested in learning more about the Advocare 24 day challenge or any of the Advocare products, please let me know and I would be happy to help you.  I can explain products and help you order products.   I understand that Advocare products are not for everyone but please respect my decision in trying the products.  For the people who have done the 24 day challenge before, I welcome any suggestions you may have.  Let the healthiness begin!!!!!
